7th Day of National Consensus Talks Major Breakthroughs on Constitutional Reforms

The seventh meeting of Bangladesh's National Consensus Commission concluded yesterday at 11 AM at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka, with representatives from 30 political parties and alliances participating in this crucial dialogue aimed at strengthening democratic processes through constitutional and electoral reforms.

1. Article 70 Amendment: Parties reached consensus on modifying the constitutional provision restricting parliament members' voting freedom

The BNP made clear their opposition to establishing any National Constitutional Council (NCC) as part of reforms, stating this remains their condition for accepting any prime ministerial term limits.
