Three Members of the Same Family Beaten to Death in Muradnagar
Breaking: A family of three was brutally murdered by a mob in Koroi Bari village, Muradnagar Upazila. The victims include two women and one man, with another family member critically injured.
According to police and local sources, approximately 20-25 villagers stormed the family's home around 9:00 AM on Thursday, attacking them with sticks and blunt weapons. The three victims died on the spot from severe trauma to their heads and bodies.
The deceased have been identified as:
• Ruby Begum (58), mother
• Rasel Hossain (32), son
• Jonaki Akhter (27), daughter
The critically injured Roma Akhter (25) was rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital with multiple fractures and internal injuries.
Local accounts suggest the family had been accused of:
• Drug trafficking operations
• Extortion from local businesses
• Multiple criminal activities
Despite previous police complaints, no formal charges had been filed prior to the attack.
Bangra Bazar Police Station OC Mahfuzur Rahman stated:
"This appears premeditated. While the family had allegations against them, mob justice cannot be tolerated. We're pursuing all leads and will arrest the perpetrators."
Additional police forces have been deployed to maintain order in the tense village.
Rights organizations have condemned the incident:
"No allegations justify extrajudicial killings. The state must protect all citizens and ensure proper legal processes."
